St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School Promotes Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Through Student-Created Mural
Earlier this year St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School decided to embark on the creation of a mural that spoke to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion using the theme "We are all created in the image of God". The school wanted the image and design to come from students, so a poster contest was conducted. The winning design was created by Kayleigh C. in Grade 5.
When it was time to create our mural, St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School out to the Art Department at St. Mary's Secondary School and they provided guidance and sent 4 of their students to work together with members of the student council to paint the image onto the wall. Their support of this project was very much appreciated! The work St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School's Equity Team does, will continue next year as the school strives to create am open and accepting place where all can share their many talents and gifts together.
