St. Bernard Catholic School Spreads Love to Others across Durham

This morning, the St. Bernard Catholic School community brought joy to others by donating $745.00 to St. Vincent Kitchen. Students and siblings, Cameron and Charlotte together with Principal Harvey made the donation to Susan Hadden, a member of St. Vincent Kitchen’s Board of Directors.

“Families’ dependence on food banks and accessing nutritious meals continues to grow in Durham Region,” said Susan Hadden. “Today’s donation will help us to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and items such as milk so we can help the needy in our community.”

The school community always holds a Thanksgiving Food drive, but due to COVID-19 and safe handling practices, the school decided to collect monetary donations instead this year.

“Our school community is always generous, but this year’s donation is amazing,” said Principal Harvey. “This is a great example of our school’s commitment to celebrating the Year of Love and helping others who need it most.”
