Dear Parents and Guardians,

As the Year of Love draws to a close, we want to extend our thanks to you for partnering with us in new and unexpected ways in order to support the ongoing learning of your children as we have navigated this global pandemic. We are appreciative of your patience, flexibility and perseverance.  We also know that you have received a tremendous number of communications this school year and we appreciate you taking the time to read and respond to our requests for feedback and surveys.

Together we responded to challenges and shared our sorrows. We also developed new skills and witnessed many acts of love and kindness, celebrations of faith, shared laughter and new friendships. With all that we have learned and the many ways we have grown, the future looks bright.

For students and families who are looking for extra support, we are offering a number of Summer School Programs (click here) and Summer Mental Health (click here) activities to assist students with the transition back to school in September.

As vaccination rates increase and COVID-19 cases decline, we remain optimistic that September will begin with a more normal start to the school year. We continue to work in collaboration with our partners at the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Durham Region Health Department to communicate ongoing COVID-19 vaccination clinics. A reminder that students ages 12-17 and their caregivers are eligible for vaccination. Visit the Region of Durham’s website for more information.

As we look ahead to the 2021-2022 school year and our spiritual theme “Community of Faith”, we will focus on establishing renewed relationships with students and families and caring for the most vulnerable among us. More information regarding September will be shared as it becomes available.

We wish you a safe and restful summer.

God bless,
