Male teacher working with Kindergarten studentsLove was in the air at St. Jude Catholic School on Friday, February 14, 2020 as students and staff participated in a Love Yourself Wellness Day. Students rotated through different stations to learn about physical health, emotional well-being and how to nurture their souls through prayer. Two adult men on stage playing musical instruments and talking to students about Black HistoryThrough stories, drumming, dance and singing students at Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School explored the meaning of ‘Heart Wisdom’ as part of Black History Month on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Students were encouraged to learn and accept other cultures by using ‘Hoza’, which means to Stop, Start and Change. Female Black adult speaking to a group of male and female studentsPoet, artist and writer, Nadine Williams spoke to students in Grades 5 to 8 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School on February 10 about Black History Month. Ms. Williams shared stories about her childhood in Jamaica and her immigration to Canada at the age of 15 with the students.
