On Wednesday, September 18, 2019 students and staff from Father Leo J. Austin Catholic Secondary School hosted a fundraising evening at Boston Pizza in Whitby. Ten percent from every dinner sold went towards the school’s Terry Fox fundraising efforts. Leadership students volunteered their time to serve tables and sold tickets to a raffle draw. Today, our Indigenous Education Advisory Circle gathered with our schools’ Indigenous Education Leads for a day of learning and relationship building. Staff had an opportunity to ask the circle members questions about Indigenous teaching during round table discussions. The day was an opportunity for the Indigenous Education Advisory Circle to meet the teaching leads and share Indigenous stories and culture.
