On October 23, female students in Grade 7 and 8 from Durham Catholic schools gathered at Durham College Whitby Campus for the annual Women in the Trades event.  Students had an opportunity to discover careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) while visiting stations throughout the day. On Tuesday, October 22, 2019 secondary school administrators and guidance teachers gathered at Archbishop Anthony Meagher Catholic Continuing Education Centre to learn about Prior Learning Assessments and Recognition (PLAR), in order for mature students (18+) to earn their high school diploma.  PLAR helps adult learners earn high school credits based on previous learning or life and work experiences.
