On November 27, the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletics (LOSSA) Champion Monsignor Paul Dwyer Saints competed in the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Bowl Championship Series at St. Clair College, Windsor, against Barrie North Vikings. In a defensive battle, Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School prevailed 9-7 on the strength of a 37 yard field goal with six minutes remaining. On Tuesday, December 10, DCDSB students, families, staff and community members attended the True Meaning of CHRISTmas concert at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Whitby. Students from seven DCDSB school choirs sang Christmas and Advent songs. Attendees were encouraged to bring gift card donations of any value which were given to the Durham Catholic Children’s Foundation to assist with needs in the community during Christmas. The Student Council at St. Patrick Catholic School decorated their Christmas tree with ornaments for a good cause! Students purchased ornaments to support families in need during the Advent season through the school’s Stars and Angels fundraiser.
