The 2023-2024 Board Spiritual Theme, "Speaking With the Heart," inspired our Catholic school communities to reflect on how we are called to encounter others and communicate “according to God’s style, nurtured by closeness, compassion, and tenderness” (Pope Francis). This theme was prominently showcased at the Home-School-Parish Symposium, which united members of the triad from each school community. The inaugural Symposium was well-received, with participants valuing the opportunity to discuss their shared mission of faith-based education. Additionally, the DCDSB engaged in reflection and dialogue about the Catholic identity of our school system. Staff participated in targeted learning to “name and notice” this distinctive identity across five key areas: Catholic Environment, Catholic Community, Catholic Curriculum, Catholic Social Teaching, and Staff Formation. All elementary and secondary schools successfully implemented a revised pastoral planning process to intentionally animate faith within their communities.

We invite you to learn more about the strategic goals and actions accomplished in our 2023-2024 Year-End Report.
