Enrolment at our student engagement programs ,such as the Centre for Success, doubled in size for the 2023-2024 school year. The board’s Reconnect program continued to grow, and a new classroom in Oshawa was opened during the school year. Throughout 2023-2024, both the Centre for Success and Reconnect program reached the maximum enrolment capacity.
We also celebrated the inaugural year of Project SEARCH Durham Region. Project SEARCH provides career exploration and employability skills development for students with mild intellectual disabilities. 10 internship placements were developed with community partners at the Abilities Centre and the Region of Durham.
