In this sacred time, we ready our hearts to once again celebrate the birth of Christ, remembering the humble circumstances of a child born in a manger, bringing light to the world. This holy season calls us to prepare with prayer and openness, embracing the virtues of hope, peace, joy, and love.

We are pleased to share the November 2025 edition of the Durham Catholic District School Board’s Black Excellence newsletter. This newsletter features information, resources, and events that may be of interest to Black and Black-identifying students and families at the DCDSB.

Today, MPP Peter Bethlenfalvy, alongside Chair Monique Forster and Mayor Kevin Ashe, officially broke ground on the new Seaton #1 Catholic Elementary School. As part of its plan to protect Ontario and prepare students for success, the Ontario government has provided the Durham Catholic District School Board with a total funding amount of $33.8 million for the new Seaton Catholic Elementary School to create more student spaces.

The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) recognizes Bullying Prevention and Intervention Week, which takes place from November 17-24, 2025.
