Wood Burning with Indigenous Artist at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School

On Wednesday, March 27, Indigenous artist, Vicky Grant, visited Grade 11 students at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School. Vicky introduced herself and her artwork with wood burning and shared her knowledge while facilitating lessons over two days to encourage students to create their own pieces of art. She emphasized the importance of appreciation versus appropriation and encouraged students to create a piece of art that connected to their identity and interests.
