News Item Images - Intranet (23)Grade 11 students from Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School spent the day visiting various places of worship (Three different Faith groups in Durham Region).  This retreat is an extension of the grade 11 world religion curriculum.  These visits allow our students to see first-hand some of the things they have learned in class and provides them with a deeper understanding of the faith traditions of their neighbours.

On May 31, Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School students and staff traveled to the Four Seasons Centre in Toronto for the Canadian Opera Company's Showcase Series for Asian Heritage Month. Students learned about South Asian Women and Music, hearing live performances in the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre. The Showcase Series featured artists from the Asian, African, Caribbean, and Latin American diasporas, to celebrate and honour these many cultures and histories......

News Item Images - IntranetThe Asian Heritage Committee at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School organized a culinary event to celebrate Asian and South Asian heritage Month. Led by teachers Dayana Tharshan, Jeremy Talag, Diana Ladrillo, and Melanie L. Crayford, the committee represented the cultural diversity of India and the Philippines by selling samosas and lumpias.
