  • Session 1: July 2 – 12
  • Session 2: July 15 - 26

This online summer program is designed for students who would benefit from additional practice and assistance in literacy and/or math to ease their transition into the next grade. Students will participate in engaging lessons to meet their individual needs and learning styles. This program is non-credit.

Registrations are due by June 21, 2024.

Registration is now open for the following summer school programs:

Reach Ahead High School Credit

  • Session 1: July 3 – 26
  • Session 2: July 29 to August 22

Reach Ahead High School credit summer courses are available for current Grade 8 students who will be attending a DCDSB secondary school in September.

Registrations are due by June 14, 2024.

Head Start Program (August 19 - 22)

The Head Start Program is available to all Grade 8 students going into Grade 9 at one of our Durham Catholic District School Board high schools. The program involves a review of literacy and numeracy skills and provides students with a preview of the Grade 9 curriculum for Mathematics and English. Study Skills, Health and Well-Being are also integrated into the program.

Interested parents and students are asked to complete the online form here: Head Start Program Registration

Registrations are due by June 28, 2024.

Students are eligible to register for more than one non-credit summer school program, as long as the programs are on different weeks (i.e. a student cannot register for the Math Program and Digital Literacy Camp at the same time if they are during the same week, but they can register for both if the sessions do not overlap).

If a student registers for a Reach Ahead High School Credit (July 3 – 26), they are not able to register for a non-credit program during that time.

If you have any questions about the non-credit literacy/numeracy programs or Head Start, please contact cont.ed@dcdsb.ca or call (905) 683-7713.
