BLOSM Fundraiser in Support of Sickle Cell Disease Association of Canada

On November 12, the Black Leaders of St. Mary (BLOSM) group at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School came together to sell samosas over the school lunch periods. The sales from the samosas went directly to the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Canada in support of sickle cell disease research. BLOSM promoted their fundraiser over the school announcements, on posters throughout the school, and on their Instagram page. Students passionately wanted to educate their peers on sickle cell disease as sickle cell anemia is a genetic condition that disproportionately affects Black and BIPOC individuals. At the end of their fundraiser, the group successfully raised $400!
