Important Information from Lakeridge Health: Supporting Healthy Communities

Lakeridge Health's Emergency Departments are struggling to meet the demand during cold and flu season. A large number of patients are using Emergency Departments for non-urgent issues, such as things that can be safely managed at home or by visiting a doctor's office/walk-in clinic. Lakeridge Health and the Durham Ontario Health Team are launching a public campaign through social media and additional website resources to better inform families about their urgent care options in an effort to reduce the strain on Emergency Departments. 

With cold and flu season upon us, Lakeridge Health has asked that we share the attached information with DCDSB families. This is especially important going into the holiday season to keep our communities healthy and safe.
