During the spring of 2019, the Board engaged in a public consultation process in conjunction with the development of the 2019-2020 budget to affirm priorities and ensure alignment with the Discovery 2020 Strategic Plan. The budget for 2019-2020 provided for expanded programs and services while maintaining a balanced budget during times of fiscal constraint. Such financial stability provides the board with the opportunity and capacity to advance the directions outlined in the strategic plan, ensuring that students and staff have the resources and supports necessary to foster positive student well-being and achievement now and into the future.
The 2019-2020 budget included $250.5 million of operating expenditure and $17.7 million of capital expenditure for a total of $268.2 million.
