To ensure the allocation of resources, board staff established a Schools Finances Working Group to streamline processes that ensure equitable and financial stewardship.
The Stewards of Sustainability Committee developed a three-year sustainability action plan that was approved by the Board of Trustees and will guide staff and students in the promotion of environmental initiatives and best practices across the system. The plan outlines goals such as reducing energy costs and environmental impacts and are aligned with the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals. Staff also continue to engage students and staff through the EcoSchools program and environmental curriculum.

Throughout the school year, students and staff met as part of the consultation on the new Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School. Students and staff provided valuable input on the design of the new school, as well as programs and services to be offered at the school. As this project continues to move forward towards final approval with various levels of government, our goals is to have a new school that honours and reflects the values and history of the current Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School.
In February 2022, the Ontario government announced the investment of $17 million to build a new Unnamed Seaton Catholic elementary school in the expanding area of north Pickering. The investment was announced by Stephen Lecce, Minister of Education and Peter Bethlenfalvy, MPP for Pickering-Uxbridge and will support the creation of 622 elementary student spaces and 88 child care spaces as part of the government’s commitment to building modern, accessible, and technologically connected schools for Ontario youth.
The Ontario government also announced $4.2 million to build an 8-classroom addition at St. Anne Catholic School to address the population growth in north Oshawa.

In May 2022, DCDSB community gathered during Catholic Education Week to celebrate the official opening and blessing of St. Anne and St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic School with Bishop Nguyen. These two events were the first in-person celebrations after nearly two years due to the world-wide pandemic.
