The Durham Catholic District School Board's (DCDSB) Information and Communication Technology Team utilize best practices and leading edge solutions to protect digital information stored in the board's networks against cyber security threats. In 2021-2022, the Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) project was completed; strengthening DCDSB's security. The Information and Communication Technology team also implemented multi-factor authentication for all employees and invested in the upgrading of firewalls at all locations.
As part of the board's multi-year Technology Plan, DCDSB continues to implement a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to modernize its current aging back-office system. The new system will help transform processes and leverage automation for Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Procurement and Purchasing and Facilities Management.
Over the course of ten months, the Information and Communication Technology team worked with DCDSB's Communications department and Intranet Working Group Committee to design the layout and features for the board's new intranet. The new intranet was launched in November 2022 and is a hub for all internal communications.
