We are committed to our students achieving success and ensuring they have the tools and resources available to meet their goals. Our Student Well-Being and Achievement Board Improvement Plan is based on the following beliefs and understandings:
- All our students are competent and capable, and can learn and achieve given the proper conditions and supports;
- Our educators can teach to high standards of excellence, given the right conditions and assistance;
- Setting high expectations for achievement, holding students to rigorous performance standards with early and on-going interventions through a personalized and precise approach, are essential to student success; and
- Educators must be able to articulate what they do and why they teach the way they do, which is reflective of Gospel values, the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations and 21st century learning skills.
Improving teaching and learning
We use our Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) data to improve teaching and learning. Our schools are looking beyond the scores and digging into three areas of focus:
- Contextual Data (demographics, communities)
- Attitudes and Behaviour
- Student Achievement
Our Numeracy Action Plan places an emphases on improving student achievement and engagement by learning through mathematical processes.
