We partner with qualified licensed not-for-profit child care operators to implement before and after school programs were there is sufficient interest from parents and guardians. For more information email childcare@dcdsb.ca or call 905-576-6150 ext. 22172.  

The following child care options are available:

Child Care Centres

Qualified, licensed child care centres provide services in a number of our elementary schools for children 0 to 12 years of age. Ages may vary per site.

EarlyON Child and Family Centres 

EarlyON Child and Family Centres offer a range of free programs and activities for children and their families. 

Nursery School/Preschool Program

Together with our community partners, we offer nursery school programs in schools for children ages 2 1/2 to 4 years. Programs offer play-based activities that are age and developmentally appropriate. These programs are facilitated by qualified Early Childhood Educators. Programs are offered two to three half days per week. 

Before and After School Program

Together with community partners, we offer before and after school programs for children in Kindergarten and Grades 1 to 6. Programs are delivered by a team of Registered Early Childhood Educators.

School Readiness/Stay and Play Program

This free summer program is offered one or two mornings per week during July and August for children 3 to 5 years of age and their parents or caregivers.

Recreation Program

Together with the YMCA's Play on program and the Boys and Girls Club of Durham's After School program, we offer a recreation program for children 6 to 12 years of age.

Location of programs

We offer child care programs at our schools in the following cities. All our Catholic elementary schools provide a full-day Kindergarten program that is play based. For more information about the programs, click on the links provided below to view partners' websites and contact information.
