French and French Immersion
We are committed to supporting the Ontario Ministry of Education's vision for French as a Second Language Programs:
Students in English-language school boards have the confidence and ability to use French effectively in their daily lives.
French programs
At the Durham Catholic District School Board we offer the following French language programs:
- Core French- Begins in Grade 4 and available to all students.
- French Immersion - Students must be entering Grade 1 to register for this program.

Opening Doors to Opportunities
As a Board, we value the learning of French and recognize the many benefits that French language-skills provide students. Our French language programs open doors to opportunities!
