The Ontario Ministry of Education has added coding into the math curriculum in the algebra stand although there are many cross-curricular links for coding projects across various subjects. Students can show their math thinking in concrete ways using code programs like Scratch (created by MIT) and analyze data with a Micro:Bit.
We are encouraging students to be innovative and become producers with technology as well as developing transferrable skills. With a focus on these goals, the Durham Catholic District School Board is working with educators, students, parents and community partners to support student achievement in our 21st century programming.
