DCDSB Celebrates Catholic Education Week and Mental Health Week from May 6-10, 2024 During the first week of May, the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) celebrates Catholic Education Week, which recognizes the significant contribution that Catholic education has made to the community, the province and to Canada. This week is also designated as Mental Health Week, which aims to raise awareness and promote and protect mental health.

Life Promotion/Suicide Prevention - Prepare, Prevent and Respond Virtual Workshop Parents, guardians and caregivers are invited to join us for Prepare, Prevent and Respond, a virtual workshop presented by DCDSB Student Services Staff. This workshop will explore some frequently asked questions that will help you prepare, prevent, and respond if your child or adolescent is experiencing thoughts of suicide.

Ribbon Skirt Making with Indigenous Student Circle From Friday, April 18 to Friday, April 26, Grade 8 and Grade 12 students from the Indigenous Student Circle sewed their own ribbon skirts and shirts with community partner, Mel Roberts. Mel showed the students how to measure out their fabric, choose various colours and patterns, and sew the fabrics together to make their ribbon skirts and shirts.

Indigenous Student Circle Overnight Trip to Claremont Nature Centre On Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 11, members of the Indigenous Student Circle experienced an immersive overnight experience at Claremont Nature Centre. Students began their time by taking part in team building activities led by the Claremont staff.
