October is Cyber Security Awareness Month, a national initiative that focuses on online safety. At the Durham Catholic District School Board, keeping our schools, students, staff, and families safe is a top priority.

On Thursday, October 23, 70 female students in Grades 9-12 took part in Dreamer Day 2025 at the Enercare Centre in Toronto. This day was dedicated to empowering female students in fields such as skilled trades, STEAM, emergency response, entrepreneurship, and leadership through exploring exhibitor booths packed with interactive activities, career opportunities, and the latest industry insights.

On October 14, over 700 student athletes hi the trails at the Super 60 Cross Country Championship Meet.

The Durham Catholic District School Board and the Anti-Black Racism and Black Excellence Advisory Committee are pleased to host the 2025 Black Student Excellence Awards at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025. The awards will be held at the DCDSB Pope Francis Centre (652 Rossland Rd. West, Oshawa).

Archbishop Anthony Meagher Catholic Continuing Education Centre celebrated its 2024-2025 school year graduation on the afternoon of October 9, 2025 at Hebron Christian Reformed Church. School staff, special guests, families and friends gathered for a ceremony and reception to celebrate this exciting milestone with the graduates.  

The Jubilee Cross has been passed along and exchanged at many DCDSB schools.

On October 25, 2025, DCDSB Trustees and staff proudly attended the 38th Annual Father Patrick Fogarty Awards Dinner, a celebration of excellence in Catholic education across Ontario.
