Winter Walk Day at Holy Family Catholic School On January 19, members of the Indigenous Education team joined community partner Beedahbin Peltier, to participate in a school-wide Winter Walk Day at Holy Family Catholic School in Beaverton. Students in Kindergarten and Grade 1 took part in an outdoor story walk around the school grounds, related to the book Be a Good Ancestor by Gabrielle Prince and Leona Prince.

Staff Training on Human Rights and Equity Principles In promoting a whole school approach to safe, equitable, inclusive, and welcoming schools that enable students to reach their full potential, we engaged in capacity building for staff on human rights and equity principles, to equip board employees to identify and address racism and other forms of discrimination that violate the Ontario Human Rights Code (the Code). Senior Administration, school administrators, facilities services, management, professional staff, and support staff received training in the 2023-2024 school year.
