Learning About Treaties in NBE3U Recently Grade 11 students in the NBE3U class (Understanding Contemporary First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Voices) at Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School engaged in multifaceted learning about treaties in Canada. Indigenous Student Circles Embrace Woodburning Art with Vicky the Real Artist On February 7, 12 members of the Elementary and Secondary Indigenous Student Circles engaged in a woodburning art workshop with local Indigenous artist Vicky Grant, who is also known as Vicky the Real Artist. Every student had the freedom to design their own original artwork, and created a paddle unique to their interests.Feb 20, 2024

Notre Dame Students Participate in Durham Action Community Group Forum Two of Notre Dame Catholic Secondary Schools student leaders, Trenyce and Domini, were invited to participate in a forum with the Durham Action Community Group. Titled “In Their Own Voices: Disrupting Anti-Black Racism & Hate Forum & Dialogue”, various community organizations from Durham Region presented information and statistics on anti-Black racism and ways to act against it as student leaders.Feb 16, 2024
