On Friday, November 21, Grade 7 and 8 students at St. Patrick Catholic School had the exciting opportunity to watch a presentation from Canadian Olympian, Sadé McCreath. Sadé competed in the 4 x 100m relay with Team Canada during the 2024 Paris Olympics and received a gold medal in the inaugural mixed 4 x 100m at the 2025 World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China.

Today, MPP Peter Bethlenfalvy, alongside Chair Monique Forster and Mayor Kevin Ashe, officially broke ground on the new Seaton #1 Catholic Elementary School. As part of its plan to protect Ontario and prepare students for success, the Ontario government has provided the Durham Catholic District School Board with a total funding amount of $33.8 million for the new Seaton Catholic Elementary School to create more student spaces.

On Thursday, November 20, Monsignor Philip Coffey Catholic School had the opportunity to engage with their Community Officers at their school.

On Wednesday, November 12, students and guidance teachers from Ajax and Pickering secondary schools participated in a Manufacturing Awareness Day hosted by Shandex Group, a family-run business founded in Pickering.

This fall, the Durham Catholic District School Board proudly partnered with Intergenerational Hub and e-Camp Mentoring to host two full-day Career Panels for Black-identifying students, and both events were an incredible success.

The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) recognizes Bullying Prevention and Intervention Week, which takes place from November 17-24, 2025.
