Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan
The DCDSB reviews and revises the board's Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan and Strategy annually.

The Education Act and Ontario Regulation 20/98 provides school boards, across the province of Ontario, with the authority to impose Education Development Charges (EDCs).
EDCs provide a source of funding for growth-related education land costs which are not funded by capital grant allocations under the provincial capital funding model.
EDCs are imposed on all development and redevelopment of lands as outlined in the EDC By-law.

Green Energy Act: Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plans
Public sector organizations must submit energy consumption data to the Ministry of Energy yearly and in accordance with Ontario Regulation 397/11. We have completed this legislative requirement since mandated in 2013.

Mental Health Strategy and Action Plan
Regulation 306, made under the authority of the Education Act, requires every school board to maintain a Special Education Plan following the guidelines outlined in the Ministry of Education document “Standards for School Boards’ Special Education Plans.” The Special Education Plan is designed to comply with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Education Act and regulations made under the act.

In 2020, the DCDSB established the Stewards of Sustainability Committee as part of the board’s multi-year strategic plan. The Stewards of Sustainability Committee was tasked with developing a three-year sustainability plan (created in the 2021-2022 school year) to review resource consumption and environmental stewardship. This plan is reviewed annually by the committee.
