Information and Communication Technology
The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) department transformed student learning during the 2020-2021 school year through major investments to provide universal connectivity, hardware, and software for all. The ICT team provided extraordinary support to staff working remotely from home during the pandemic, and to families who required assistance accessing Edsby, Microsoft Teams, and D2L/Brightspace for learning.
Cyber security, the protection of data, information, computers, devices, and networks was a critical focus for our ICT team during the 2020-2021 school year. Staff implemented and utilized best practices and leading-edge solutions to protect DCDSB's network against cyber threats.
The ICT team, together with Business Services and Human Resource Services departments launched a multi-year Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project to modernize aging back-office system, streamline business processes and empower staff to be more productive. As part of this project, the team focused on the selection of a strategic partner to help the board transform processes and leverage automation.
