Witnessing Faith

As a Catholic school system, we are rooted in faith with Jesus Christ as the teaching centre, and committed to our guiding principles of Excellence, Equity, and Engagement. Our pastoral theme for the 2020-2021 school year was the Year of Love. This was a fitting theme during the pandemic because it offered students, staff, and families an opportunity to reflect on their faith as its relations to God’s love for us, for others, and for the world.

Our Faith Formation department held a student poster contest to create an image for the Year of Love that was shared with schools. The winning submission was created by All Saints Catholic Secondary School student, Emma Fischer. “The poster reflects hands coming together to represent the different cultures of DCDSB students and also represents the love and acceptance which Jesus modelled for us through his life and death,” said Emma Fischer. “Jesus is asking us to put God at the centre of our lives and to love him fully. If we are able to do this, I believe that we will find true happiness and love.”
