  • Create multiple, accessible opportunities for stakeholders to provide input from the diverse voices that comprise the Durham Catholic learning community
  • Demonstrate transparency throughout the process by sharing how stakeholder feedback informs draft strategic pillars and other planning elements
  • Integrate a monitoring and feedback loop into the strategic plan to support ongoing engagement and responsiveness

Facilities Services

  • Monitor updates to the Provincial Pupil Accommodation Review Guidelines (PARG) to identify opportunities for school consolidations that support system-wide budget and program optimization

  • Secure Ministry approval to initiate construction of the new Dwyer facility
  • Upon tender closing, commence construction of the new Seaton Catholic elementary school and prepare for the relocation of St. André Bessette students in the 2026-2027 school year

Information and Communications Technology

  • Proactively enhance cybersecurity measures to protect the integrity of our digital infrastructure and the privacy of student and staff data

  • Explore and implement emerging AI technologies through a balanced, ethical framework that prioritizes innovation, privacy and equity

  • Allocate resources towards the procurement of new mobile devices (i.e., laptops) to ensure schools are equipped with up-to-date technology

People and Culture

  • Conduct a compliance review of the current Attendance Support Policy and Administrative Procedure to ensure alignment with PPM 171 by the required June 2026 deadline
  • Develop standardized reporting tools and communication templates for Principals, Managers, Supervisors and Employees
  • Implement a communication and training plan to support the rollout of the updated Attendance Support Program

  • Consistent with recommendation 29 in Dreams Delayed: Addressing Systemic Anti-Black Racism and Discrimination in Ontario’s Public Education System (Ontario Human Rights Commission), the DCDSB will develop a strategy to support the recruitment of Black educators and education workers.
