As part of the Multi-year Strategic Planning process, we are inviting students, staff, families, parishes and our community partners to share their insights, thoughts, and feedback on the future of Catholic education in Durham Region.

We also invite suggestions and comments regarding our strategic direction and priorities to strategicplanning@dcdsb.ca

Consultation Sessions

The following consultation sessions have taken place:

 

Members of the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)will share their input, ideas and thoughts about the future of Catholic education in Durham Region during their regularly scheduled meeting.

Tracy Barill, Director of Education is conducting focus groups at each DCDSB secondary school to gather authentic student input on the development of the Board’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan. 

Students are being invited to be part of this focus group, to share their ideas about what they value in terms of their  current and past experiences in their DCDSB school/board and what students would like the Board to consider when setting priorities for the next three to five years that will help improve the student experience and support success.


Locations: Father Leo J. Austin Catholic Secondary School

As the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) approaches the end of its current strategic plan, Discovery 2023: Renewing the Vision, it is time to initiate the process for development of a new Multi-year Strategic Plan to provide ambitious goals and direction for the DCDSB in the years ahead.  

The new Multi-Year Strategic Plan will be implemented from January 2023 to June 2026. It is the intention of the Board to ensure that the development of the new Multi-Year Strategic Plan is informed by diverse and multiple perspectives. The development process will include a variety of opportunities for engagement with board and community partners, including students, families, staff, and parishes and will be overseen by the Multi-Year Strategic Plan Committee.  
 

As part of the strategic planning process, DCDSB is seeking the input and feedback of students, staff, families, parishes, and community stakeholders. You can keep apprised of our consultation sessions and the planning process by visiting our dedicated Strategic Planning Webpage

On Wednesday, May 4, 2022, we held a Live Zoom Webinar with Morgan Ste. Marie, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Tracy Barill, Director of Education. Members of the Durham Catholic Parent Involvement Committee (DCPIC) will share their input, ideas and thoughts about the future of Catholic education in Durham Region during their regularly scheduled meeting.

Location: Msgr. Paul Dwyer Catholic High School

DCDSB staff located at the board's Catholic Education Centre and OMAC locations are invited to attend an in-person consultation session to share their insights on the boards new 2023-2026 Strategic Plan.

Members of the Anti-Black Racism Committee will share their input, ideas and thoughts about the future of Catholic education in Durham Region during their regularly scheduled meeting.

DCDSB staff are invited to participate in an in-person drop-in session to share their ideas and thoughts our the board's mission and strategic priorities for student achievement, faith and culture.

Location: DCDSB Board Office - Pope Francis Centre

Members of the DCDSB's Student Senators will share their input, ideas and thoughts about the future of Catholic education in Durham Region during their regularly scheduled meeting.

DCDSB staff are invited to participate in an in-person drop-in session to share their ideas and thoughts our the board's mission and strategic priorities for student achievement, faith and culture. 

Location: Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School's Learning Commons

Time: 3:30 to 5:15 p.m.

Members of the Indigenous Education Circle (IEAC) will share their input, ideas and thoughts about the future of Catholic education in Durham Region and how we can continue to walk the path together during their regularly scheduled meeting.

ThoughtExchange

As part of our strategic planning process, we invited students, staff, parents and guardians and community partners to share their thoughts and ideas by participating in two ThoughtExchange sessions on our mission, vision, values and strategic priorities and directions for the future of Catholic education in Durham Region.
