Catholic Education Week

During the week of May 3 to May 8, 2026 the DCDSB will join Catholic schools across the province of Ontario and celebrate Catholic Education and Mental Health Week. This year our theme is Pilgrims of Hope: On the Path to Holiness with daily sub-themes of Peace Be With You, God Loves You, Christ Saves You, The Holy Spirit Lives in You, and Together On the Journey. As we continue to be Peacemakers, we invite students, families and staff to dive deeper into this year's theme and make use of the resources below to help celebrate these two very important weeks in Durham Catholic.

Catholic Education Prayer:

God of grace and love,

Strengthen and sustain us as we continue to journey as pilgrims of hope.

Guide is on the path to holiness with the light of your love.

Inspire us to serve joyfully in the love of Christ through the beautiful examples of the saints.

As we journey together in faith, may we experience the peace of Christ through the presence of one another.

We pray that all young people in our Catholic schools may believe, and become empowered by, these three important Gospel messages:

"God loves you!"

"Christ saves you!"

"The Holy Spirit lives in you!"

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

The 2025-2026 Ontario Catholic School Trustees Association (OCSTA) Catholic Eduction Week Theme Song "Path of Holiness". This song was successfully chosen from various submissions across Ontario to be the official theme song for the year. The Association thanks Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board educator Chris Rait who wrote and performed this song to celebrate this year's theme "Pilgrims of Hope: On the Path to Holiness".
