  • Together in Dance: 27 Schools Unite at the Annual Folk Dance Jamboree On Wednesday, April 30 and Thursday, May 1, Durham Catholic elementary schools hosted the annual Folk Dance Jamboree at Iroquois Park Sports Arena in Whitby. 27 schools participated in this event! The Jamboree featured 10 dances with each school having the option to participate in some, or all of them.
  • All Saints Catholic Secondary School Places First in Fundraising for the Terry Fox Foundation All Saints Catholic Secondary School has once again secured the top spot in fundraising for the Terry Fox Foundation during the 2024 Terry Fox School Run! The school community raised over $90,000, placing first among the top 25 secondary schools in Ontario. This achievement is not a first for All Saints Catholic Secondary School.
  • Indigenous Student Circle Visits Claremont Nature Centre On April 24, Indigenous students in Grades 6-12 across Durham Catholic District School Board joined together for a fun filled day at Claremont Nature Centre in Pickering. This day is one of the outings offered to members of the Indigenous Student Circle (ISC).
  • Exploring the Skilled Trades Through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program and Indigenous Education DCDSB Indigenous Education in partnership with the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) hosted a project for students to experience learning on the land, cooking Indigenous dishes and exploring skilled trades. Grade 10 students at Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School had the opportunity to work with Indigenous Knowledge Holder, Beedahbin Peltier and Indigenous chef, Keri-Ann Peacock.

  • Indigenous Storyteller Visits St. Patrick Catholic School Mme D’Lima and Mme Lafontaine-Lisi’s classes at St. James Catholic School, along with the Grade 6 to 8 French Immersion classes at St.
  • 2024-2025 DCPIC Parent/Guardian Survey Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,  The Durham Catholic Parent Involvement Committee (DCPIC) is a parent-led advisory committee working within the Durham Catholic District School Board. The committee is conducting a parent/guardian survey that will assist in setting the committee’s direction for the 2025-2026 school year.

Most students have been in a situation where they have supported a friend with their mental health, yet many don’t feel prepared.
  • Secondary Students Compete in White Pine Battle of the Books 2025 On Tuesday, May 6, the spirit of reading and friendly competition was alive and well as secondary students from across the Durham Public and Durham Catholic District School Boards gathered for the annual White Pine Battle of the Books, hosted by the public libraries of Durham Region. This exciting literary showdown saw teams of students test their knowledge on up to ten selected novels from the Forest of Reading White Pine Category, showcasing their dedication, teamwork, and love of reading.
