  • Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School Creates Display for the National Day of Action for MMIWG2S+ The learning community at Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School joined together to create a display for the National Day of Action for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit+ (MMIWG2S+) Peoples. At the centre of the display is a red dress.
  • Mental Health & Well-Being: Feeling Stressed? Together for Mental Health: Everyone, Everyday Developing positive mental health is important to academic achievement and overall well-being. Did you know that we all feel stressed sometimes? Feeling stressed can make us feel uncomfortable but there are different things that we can do to help.
  • St. Theresa Catholic School in Whitby Celebrates its Feast Day On Tuesday, October 1, System Faith Animator, David Dubowits visited with the staff and students at St. Theresa Catholic School in Whitby.
  • DCDSB 2023-2024 EQAO and OSSLT Results The Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) provides Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) board, school and individual student reports based on the results of annual student provincial assessments. The 2023-2024 reports are now available and include data from the Primary and Junior assessments, Grade 9 Mathematics, and the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT).
  • Durham Catholic District School Board Seeks a Volunteer Community Member to Serve on the Audit Committee The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is seeking a community member with financial expertise and business knowledge to serve on its audit committee for a 3-year term effective immediately. The audit committee is comprised of three (3) Trustees and two (2) independent members drawn from the community at large.
  • St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School Recognizes National Day for Truth and Reconciliation St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School commemorated the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with a curated bulletin board.
  • St. Paul Student Wins Durham Regional Police Services Junior Police Chief for the Day Contest On September 27, 2024, Jacob, a Grade 5 student at St. Paul Catholic School, was surprised with the news that he won the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) Police Chief for a Day Contest! Jacob submitted a 500-word essay that outlined what he would do to enhance community safety and well-being if he was the Police Chief.
  • DCDSB Recognizes National Day for Truth and Reconciliation On Monday, September 30, the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. On this day of solemn reflection, we honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, and offer thoughts and prayers to the survivors, their families, and all those impacted by this painful history.
  • Mental Health & Well-Being: The Importance of Sleep Together for Mental Health: Everyone, Everyday Developing positive mental health is important to academic achievement and overall well-being. Did you know that sleep is essential for our overall well-being? Children 6-12 need 9 to 12 hours of sleep and youth age 13-18 need 8-10 hours of sleep per night.
