  • DCDSB and OECTA Durham Elementary Teachers’ Unit Announce Tentative Agreement Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is pleased to announce that it has reached a tentative settlement for a renewed collective agreement with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) Durham Elementary Unit. OECTA Durham Elementary represents the board’s permanent elementary teachers.
  • DCDSB Math Hub Professional Learning Series During the 2023-2024 school year, priority schools participated in the “Math Hub” professional learning series. These hands-on sessions brought together educators from multiple schools to collaborate on addressing common student misconceptions, exploring new math resources, and sharing best practices.

  • Secondary Student Mental Health Leadership Summit On Thursday, May 9, 2024, secondary students across the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) gathered at the Pope Francis Centre for the Secondary Student Mental Health Leadership Summit.  As part of the board’s Mental Health Strategy, Together for Mental Health: Everyone, Everyday, DCDSB has committed to increasing student engagement and leadership regarding mental health promotion.
  • Secondary Students Compete in the 2024 White Pine Battle of the Books On Wednesday, May 8, secondary students from the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) and Durham District School Board (DDSB) gathered to battle over all things literary! Organized by a collaboration of the Durham Public Library groups and both school boards, high school students competed to demonstrate their reading savvy of this year’s Forest of Reading White Pine booklist.  Congratulations to All Saints Catholic Secondary School, Father Leo J.
  • Display Honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2-Spirit People at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School On Friday, May 3, St. Mary Catholic Secondary School recognized the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous, Women, Girls and 2-Spirit People.
  • Elementary Cricket Tournament During the week of April 29, 13 DCDSB elementary schools took part in the Cricket tournament. This year, schools played the full version of the game for the first time with each team getting ten overs to score as many runs as possible.
