Indigenous Student Circles Embrace Woodburning Art with Vicky the Real ArtistOn February 7, 12 members of the Elementary and Secondary Indigenous Student Circles engaged in a woodburning art workshop with local Indigenous artist Vicky Grant, who is also known as Vicky the Real Artist.
Every student had the freedom to design their own original artwork, and created a paddle unique to their interests.

Notre Dame Students Participate in Durham Action Community Group ForumTwo of Notre Dame Catholic Secondary Schools student leaders, Trenyce and Domini, were invited to participate in a forum with the Durham Action Community Group. Titled “In Their Own Voices: Disrupting Anti-Black Racism & Hate Forum & Dialogue”, various community organizations from Durham Region presented information and statistics on anti-Black racism and ways to act against it as student leaders.

Lenten Message from the Chair of the Board and Director of EducationThis year Ash Wednesday, a holy day of prayer and fasting that is recognized by many Christian denominations, falls on February 14, 2024. On this day, members of the Catholic community gather for liturgical celebrations in which they receive ashes, marked on their forehead in the sign of the cross, as a call to repentance and as a reminder of our need for love and forgiveness.
