  • DCDSB and ETFO Announce New Agreement for the Board’s Designated Early Childhood Educators Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) and the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) are pleased to announce they have ratified a new collective agreement. ETFO represents the Designated Early Childhood Educators (DECE) employed by the board.
  • Durham Catholic District School Board Trustees Elect Chair and Vice-Chair for 2024 The Annual Board Meeting of the Durham Catholic District School Board took place on November 27, 2023. His Excellency, Bishop Vincent Nguyen, presided over Mass where Trustees participated in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and reaffirmed their commitment to service through their Rite of Renewal of Roman Catholic Trustees.
  • DCDSB Black Excellence Newsletter Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers:  We are writing to you as you expressed interest in receiving communications for Black students and families on the student verification form this year. We are pleased to be sharing our first newsletter to Black families at the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB), and look forward to sharing information, resources, and upcoming events that may be of interest to you.
  • Christmas Giving Christmas Giving As a Catholic learning community, we always strive to support our families, especially at Christmas when we celebrate the birth of Jesus and the spirit of giving. The past few years have been especially challenging for many families.
  • "Frosty Festivities" St. Mary Instrumental and Vocal Music Concert (Thursday December 7th) St. Mary Christmas Music Concert is Thursday, December 7th at 7pm.
  • Grade 11 and 12 Students Get a Taste of Apprenticeship Training This fall, DCDSB students in Grades 11 and 12 attended an information session at Durham College to learn more about the Level 1 Cook Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP). While there, they had the opportunity to meet with faculty, tour the culinary labs and participate in hands-on activities, giving them a taste of what they can expect if they choose to enrol in this experiential program.
  • DCDSB Students are Learning on the Land with Beedahbin Peltier Recently, Durham Catholic District School Board elementary and secondary students have been learning on the land with community partner Beedahbin Peltier. Exploring Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Biodiversity Grade 7 students at Monsignor John Pereyma joined Beedahbin for an outdoor walk to learn about trees, water, animals and plants and how Indigenous Science and Ways of Knowing support healthy biodiversity.
  • Youth For Others Social Justice Day - A Secondary Student's Perspective Written by Devan L, Grade 12 student at All Saints Catholic Secondary School On November 13, high school students from across the DCDSB gathered at the Pope Francis Centre in Oshawa to discuss important social justice issues surrounding girls' education. Students were honoured with the opportunity to hear from South African Education Activist, Noluthando Honono, via Zoom.
