  • Be You, Be Well: A Black Mental Health Day Event On Monday, March 4, DCDSB held its fourth annual Black Mental Health Day event to recognize the ongoing impact on mental health that results from experiences of anti-Black racism and to raise awareness of the specific mental health needs of Black communities. The event was a success thanks to our keynote speaker, Roxanne Francis and panelists Trudy Stone, Joy Lapps and Karrianne Edwards from the Women's Multicultural Counselling Centre.
  • DCDSB 2024-2025 Bell Time Changes Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers: Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) and Durham District School Board (DDSB) are partners in the transportation consortium known as Durham Student Transportation Services (DSTS). Through this partnership, both boards' transportation needs are consolidated to provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for our students.
  • Empowering English Language Learners (ELLs) for Academic and Emotional Growth This year we embarked on a new Learning and Innovation Fund for Teachers (LIFT) initiative, Fostering Cultural Connectivity for ELL’s Mental Wellbeing, led by Antonietta Springer and Coleen Dwyer, English as a Second Language (ESL) Itinerant Teachers.  Select ELL students have engaged in collaborative academic and social and emotional tasks, both online and face to face, to develop their English language acquisition skills, oral communication skills and strengthen their mental well-being and sense of belonging.
  • Kindergarten STEM Transformation: Empowering Curiosity and Learning at Monsignor Phillip Coffey Catholic School Through a collaboration with Academic Services, Monsignor Phillip Coffey Catholic School Kindergarten classes now have new STEM centres, which are vibrant hubs of exploration and discovery. Students were guided through hands-on activities, fostering an environment of analysis and synthesis.
