Forest of Reading - May 17 On Tuesday, May 16 and Wednesday, May 17, 2023, the DCDSB hosted “A Forest of Reading Celebration” at the Pope Francis Centre. The event engaged students in indoor and outdoor stations related to the book “Be a Good Ancestor.

Congratulations to Our Project SEARCH Durham Region InternsOn Monday, May 8, 2023, Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) in partnership with the Region of Durham and the Abilities Centre, congratulated the successful candidates of the inaugural Project SEARCH Durham Region program. The 10 candidates and their families were invited for an in-person contract signing to accept admission into the program that will begin in August 2023.

DCDSB Announces the 2023 Distinguished Catholic Alumni Award RecipientsOn Thursday, May 11, 2023, the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) recognized seven alumni at the Durham Catholic Children's Foundation Gala. A graduate from each Durham Catholic secondary school received the Distinguished Catholic Alumni Award.

"Checkmate" at DCDSBDurham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) gymnasiums are usually filled by active athletic sporting events, but in the last two weeks the game of chess found a home in our elementary gyms.
Over 300 students made up 29 elementary chess teams, which competed in six regional chess tournaments throughout DCDSB.
