  • Grade 11 and 12 Students Get a Taste of Apprenticeship Training This fall, DCDSB students in Grades 11 and 12 attended an information session at Durham College to learn more about the Level 1 Cook Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP). While there, they had the opportunity to meet with faculty, tour the culinary labs and participate in hands-on activities, giving them a taste of what they can expect if they choose to enrol in this experiential program.
  • DCDSB Students are Learning on the Land with Beedahbin Peltier Recently, Durham Catholic District School Board elementary and secondary students have been learning on the land with community partner Beedahbin Peltier. Exploring Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Biodiversity Grade 7 students at Monsignor John Pereyma joined Beedahbin for an outdoor walk to learn about trees, water, animals and plants and how Indigenous Science and Ways of Knowing support healthy biodiversity.
  • Youth For Others Social Justice Day - A Secondary Student's Perspective Written by Devan L, Grade 12 student at All Saints Catholic Secondary School On November 13, high school students from across the DCDSB gathered at the Pope Francis Centre in Oshawa to discuss important social justice issues surrounding girls' education. Students were honoured with the opportunity to hear from South African Education Activist, Noluthando Honono, via Zoom.
  • Giving Tuesday in Support of the Durham Catholic Children's Foundation Giving Tuesday In support of the Durham Catholic Children’s Foundation This Giving Tuesday, we are encouraging families to help make a difference right here in our own Durham Catholic learning community. Giving Tuesday takes place around the world on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.
  • St. Mary Students Attend Level Up Skilled Trades Career Fair St. Mary Transportation SHSM students and students from 4 other DCDSB secondary schools attended Level Up in Oshawa at the end of November; a Skilled Trades Career fair showcasing trades pathway opportunities for students.
  • Academy for Student Athlete Development (ASAD) The Academy for Student Athlete Development works in partnership with Durham Catholic District School Board and Durham District School Board to integrate sport specific training directly into the student-athlete’s timetable, creating a balanced school day for each individual.  Academics  Sport technical training  Strength & Conditioning  Mental Performance & Nutrition  Come check out the program, tour the facility, meet the team, and participate in a training session at one of our upcoming information sessions.
