  • DCDSB 2024-2025 Budget Consultation Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,  School and board planning for the 2024-2025 school year is underway and we want to hear from you! As a member of our Durham Catholic learning community, your feedback on what we are currently doing well, and ways we can improve, is important to us. Listening, Learning and Living in Faith are foundational processes that form the core of DCDSB's Multi-Year Plan, Inspire 2026.
  • Enhancing Math Learning in Grade 9 at Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School Now that semester two is well underway in our secondary schools, DCDSB’s Transition Intervention Support Teachers have had a chance to reflect upon their first semester working in local high schools. At Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School they had great success in delivering and assessing the culminating tasks in Grade 9 Math classes.
  • New Dual Credit Plumbing Program Offers DCDSB Secondary Students Opportunity to Receive Durham College Credit Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) students can now simultaneously earn a high school credit and a first-year plumbing college credit through a unique Dual Credit program. Through a partnership between DCDSB and Durham College, students at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School in Ajax are able to enroll in a Construction Technology class where they will also be taught the Trade Fundamental Basic Plumbing course, which is part of Durham College’s one-year Trade Fundamentals program.
  • St. Mary Catholic Secondary School’s Unity Committee Recognizes Black History Month In recognition of Black History Month, the St. Mary Catholic Secondary School’s student-led Unity Committee hosted two special events to promote Black culture and excellence.
  • Grade 6 Students at St. Bridget Catholic School Craft Crosses for Lent The Grade 6 students at St. Bridget Catholic School in Brooklin recently engaged in a meaningful and hands-on activity to deepen their understanding of Lent and the significance of the cross in our Catholic faith.
  • Durham Catholic District School Board Director of Education Announces Retirement At the Regular Board Meeting on February 26, 2024, Tracy Barill, Director of Education, announced her retirement after a 36-year career in Catholic education. Director Barill began her career with DCDSB in 1988 as an Educational Assistant.
  • St. Mary Prom (Thursday May 30th) St. Mary Graduates of 2024 will celebrate Prom on Thursday May 30th Location: Ajax Convention Centre Time: 6 - 11pm Tickets are $110 per person and available via School Cash Online till May 1st Prom Guest request procedure: - pick up Prom Guest form from Ms.
  • Social Justice Club Presentation at St. John Bosco Catholic School On Thursday, February 22, the Social Justice Club at St. John Bosco Catholic School led a presentation on historical Black inventors during the school’s Liturgy and Celebrates Assembly.
  • Student-Led Group ABLE talk about February Forever and Black History Month Students in the Aspiring Black Students Led by Excellence (ABLE) group at Archbishop Denis O'Connor Catholic High School (DOC) talk about their initiatives for February Forever and Black History Month. The group also shares their goals for the school year and beyond at DOC.
