  • DCDSB Hosts Inaugural Student Human Rights Conference On May 8, we were excited to have Grade 9-12 students from all Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) secondary schools attend our inaugural Student Human Rights Conference! The conference was titled The Strength of Us: Advancing Human Rights with Courage, Compassion, and Conviction. Students enjoyed a day of learning, including workshops, networking and mentorship.
  • DCDSB Celebrates the Election of Pope Leo XIV Habemus Papam! We are blessed to witness the election of Pope Leo XIV.  The Durham Catholic District School Board joins the global Catholic community to celebrate our new Holy Father.
  • Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School Students Participate in Durham Region Para Track and Field Meet On Wednesday, May 7, students from Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School participated in the Durham Region Track Meet Series #2 in the Para Track and Field category at Pine Ridge Secondary School. Yannis Mula Cruz and Jermaine Nzekwe ran the 100-metre sprint.
  • BWell Student Mental Health and Well-Being Leadership Team Year-End Celebration On May 6, DCDSB’s secondary student mental health and well-being leadership team, BWell, gathered at the Pope Francis Centre for a year-end celebration.   Students showcased the work they implemented in the 2024-2025 school year and participated in self-care and wellness activity stations including rock painting, creating their own slime, and a mindfulness walk.

  • Durham Catholic District School Board Recognizes the 2024-2025 Distinguished Catholic Leader The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is pleased to recognize Jennifer Harvey, elementary principal, as the recipient of the 2024-2025 Distinguished Catholic Leader Award. The award was announced following a System-Wide Mass on Monday, May 5, 2025, which also recognized Durham Catholic Distinguished Educators from each school and department across the board, and employees who have 25 years of service in Catholic Education.
